Reablement - Grantham

When you’ve had a fall, illness or an operation, you may need some extra help at home for a short time as you recover, to help you get back to your normal routine.

Greenwood Homecare’s reablement service will work with you to develop your confidence and skills, so you can carry out your usual daily tasks, while continuing to live safely and independently at home.

Reablement helps you to remain living in your own home for as long as possible and supports you in doing as much as possible for yourself. It focuses on getting positive results for you, building your confidence so you can live independently and do your daily tasks yourself. Our Grantham-based carers have extensive experience of helping clients in recovery. They understand just how important your independence is and provide personal care that is discreet and respectful. Their aim is to build your confidence so you can resume doing things yourself, giving you the space and time, you need.

Supporting your independence

Reablement is short term help that supports you as you get back on your feet and work towards doing things for yourself. Depending on your specific needs and requirements, your support may include:

• Dressing and undressing
• Cooking and preparing meals
• Washing, showering and bathing
• Toileting
• Taking medication
• Meal preparation
• Moving around the home
• Social activities
• Getting in and out of a chair or bed

We will visit you to talk to you about your needs and what you want to achieve. Our highly trained carers will work with you to help you re-learn or regain the abilities you have lost. We will support you to help you achieve the things you care about. Our services are flexible and work around you, so if your circumstances change, then we will adapt the support we deliver accordingly.
