Home Care Services in Newborough
Sitting on the border between Cambridgeshire and Lincoln, the village of Newborough is nestled in the picturesque Fenlands that are typical of this part of the English countryside.
The open country, lazy farmland and plethora of wildlife make Newborough the ideal place for the serial wanderer to put down roots. At Greenwood Home Care, we know that growing older doesn’t mean staying cooped up indoors, which is why we work with individuals to create a care plan that fits around their lifestyle.
Our friendly, well-trained staff are available to support you with anything from full-time care to a half-hour visit. The support we offer is tailored to your individual needs, whether that’s medication assistance, help with food preparation or if you’d simply like some company on those long walks.
We know how hard it is to entrust the care of a loved one to someone else, so we’ll be on hand at all times to give you peace of mind when you can’t be there yourself.

Newborough: Did You Know?
In Medieval Times, Borough Fen (the area of wetland lying adjacent to Newborough) was completely submerged in water! Thankfully, the process of drainage began in the 17th century to make the area livable. Still, it’s no wonder water-loving wildlife still flock there today.
Borough Fen is home to one of the oldest working ‘Duck Decoys’ in Britain. Unsuspecting wildfowl were lured through covered ditches resembling pipes into a netted area. In the 17th century, these birds made a tasty supper for the landowner, but the decoy is now part of a wildfowl sanctuary.
Along the border between Cambridgeshire and Lincoln, you might spy St Kennulph’s stone, one of six ancient stones separating Peterborough from the land of the Crowland Abbeys.
